30 years of Mapei Sport: a journey through the sporting experiences of the research centre, exploring the past, present and future. This is the title of the upcoming conference organised by the Mapei Sport Research Centre in Olgiate Olona (Varese), which this year celebrates 30 years of activity with a day packed with expert talks and champions from various disciplines.
The date to mark in your diary is Saturday 28 March at the prestigious Leonardo da Vinci National Museum of Science and Technology in Milan, which will host leading figures from the world of sport and motor sciences. In addition to the Squinzi family, the programme features internationally renowned researchers, trainers and managers with proven experience, such as Giovanni Carnevali (U.S. Sassuolo Calcio) and Luca Guercilena (Lidl-Trek), as well as athletes from yesterday and today linked to the world of Mapei.
Cycling legends such as Paolo Bettini and Andrea Tafi will take to the stage to recount their experiences, as will Sassuolo Calcio player Nemanja Matić, accompanied by the Neroverdi coach and world champion Fabio Grosso, the architect of the club’s historic promotion to Serie A and European qualification Eusebio di Francesco, the number one in athletics Nadia Battocletti, ocean navigator Ambrogio Beccaria, and rally driver Rachele Somaschini, fresh from the Dakar Rally.
Founded in 1996 by Giorgio Squinzi and Aldo Sassi to support the athletes of the professional cycling team with scientific rationality and a correct ethical approach, Mapei Sport today represents excellence in medicine and sports training and carries forward the values embodied in Mapei’s motto: Never stop pedalling.
Registration for the conference is mandatory and free of charge. Please send an email to segreteria@mapeisport.it.
