The countdown has begun: next Monday the 9th Conference of the Mapei Sport Research Center entitled Training and performance: team sports and individual sports, different strategies will take place.

 

Athletic trainers, doctors and athletes active in the world of high-level sports from all over the world will meet students, technicians and enthusiasts who will be able to enjoy a morning full of qualified interventions on the 6th of May in Centro Congressi Malpensa Fiere at Busto Arsizio (Varese).

After the ritual greetings of the managing director of Mapei Spa Giorgio Squinzi, of the marketing and communication director of the group Adriana Spazzoli, of the director of Mapei Sport Claudio Pecci and of the president of the Chamber of Commerce of Varese Fabio Lunghi, the unmissable program will begin with Relationship between training load and performance of the high level player during the preparatory period by Antonio Gualtieri, one of the athletic trainers belonging to the Sport Science department of Juventus Football Club.

From Australia the well-known researcher Arron Coutts, active in the Faculty of Health of the University of Technology in Sidney, will bring his contribution Man vs Machine: assessing the efficacy of coach and computer-led athlete monitoring systems for making training decisions while the Swedish coach of Trek Segafredo Mattias Reck, will show us How to prepare for the Hell of the North, that is to say for the mythical Paris-Roubaix.

The 8th Aldo Sassi research grant will be presented. Launched by Mapei Spa in collaboration with Varese Sport Commission, this year will be dedicated to the relationship between workloads and physical performance of cyclists. The graduate in Sports Science Marco Martin, winner of the last edition, will illustrate the results of his work carried out in the Mapei Sport laboratories and on the soccer fields in the past 12 months.

Finally the round table dedicated to field experiences will be staged, with the coach of the U.S. Sassuolo Roberto De Zerbicycling champion Ivan Basso, now head of the Kometa Cycling TeamErmanno Rampinini, head of the Human Performance Lab (HPL) of Mapei Sport and consultant for team sports such as football, basketball and skiing, and Andrea Morelli, head of the movement analysis laboratory and referent for the cycling sector, answering the questions of sports journalist Pier Augusto Stagi.
